The Egyptian man Tutankhamun had invented game board and when he died this was put in his tomb so he could play it in the afterlife. This horse was a prize position for any child that owned one. They would sit on it ride around on it. Common games that were played by children were tug of war , leap frog ,dolls and board games that were played by both adults and children. The board games used were usually made of wood , stone , clay or they were just drawn into the ground. The amount of moves that you were allowed to make were decided by the throw of sticks or of animal bones or ankles. The Men took part in more physical activities such as hunting , wrestling , boxing and stick fencing. A game played between the boys involved having two teams. There were two leaders and everyone in a team would stand behind them and hold shoulders while the leaders wrestled and when the leaders fell the whole team would. Dolls that were able to have their arms and legs move were quite popular. There was a mouse that had a string to be pulled that would make it's tail would move up and down. Festivals held in Ancient Egypt were usually holidays in honor of the gods. The important gods had festivals in their honour that were held by the priests. A statue of the god was carried through the streets.
More friendly gods had celebrations held by the people, and not the priests. Bes is one of the gods the people held a festival for. On the day of Bes, no work was done on the pyramid, and people would parade down the street dressed in masks of Bes, while dancers and tambourine players followed. The townspeople joined in the singing from their rooftops, while the children would run along beside the dancers singing and clapping their hands. The whole town enjoyed the festival and feast.
